Meals

“I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house.”
Matthew 25:35

At the Bradley Street Church of God, we are blessed to offer a ministry where we serve those in our local body who are in need of a little extra care & help. We serve those in our body who have recently had a surgery (with overnight stay in hospital), where the one who does the cooking is not well, or someone has had a baby. We, as a family of God, are called to bear each other’s burdens.
“Carry each other’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2

Sometimes that means cooking a meal for someone whose health has declined or who is not physically well. Meal schedules are generally for 2 weeks, every other day.
“Do not be interested only in your own life, but in the lives of others.”
Philippians 2:4

Has God been placing this burden on your heart? He may want you to serve the local body in this way.

“A person who gives to others will get richer. Whoever helps others will himself be helped.”
Proverbs 11:25
“So continue encouraging each other and building each other up, just like you are doing already.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11

This is often done through hospitality, having a coffee with someone, sharing/giving of the abundance we have, or bringing someone a meal.
“You should feed those who are hungry. You should take care of the needs of those who are troubled. Then your light will shine in the darkness. And you will be bright like sunshine at noon.”
Isaiah 58:10
“Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth. Anything you did for any of my people here, you also did for me.”
Matthew 25:40
